Larissa Best - Director

Larissa is the director and co-founder of Equilibre, a Luxembourg-based think-tank delivering research, advisory and advocacy for ‘gender complementarity’. She is passionate about reducing inequalities in all its forms.

She is also the president of the Luxembourg Business Angel Network (LBAN) and is engaged with the European Business Angel Network (EBAN) as a board member.

Due to her entrepreneurial background in growing and exiting a RegTech company in the Intellectual Property domain, as well as an MBA and Masters in Finance, she has become a proverbial 'Jane-of-all-trades', lecturing at Universities and on the European speaker circuit on subject related to gender, impact investing, entrepreneurship and family business.

Why did I co-found Equilibre?

I am passionate about diversity. I believe that the better we manage diversity within companies, the happier society becomes and the more profitable companies become. I believe that gender equality is not a zero sum game and that by working together we can all grow the pie. That is why we need Equilibre as a force to provide research in the space as well as matchmake between associations and companies.

Aude Lemogne - Board Member

Aude is an Entrepreneur and Non-Executive Director and the chairwoman of Equilibre

She is also the co-founder of LINK Management, an art advisory firm founded in 2009 and preferred advisor on the structuring of art collections and acquisitions/sales of multimillion works of art for wealth managers, private banks, family offices and (U)HNWI in Europe.

Co-Founder of GRIFFIN ART PARTNERS, a securitisation platform providing collectors high-end non-recourse loans collateralised by works of fine art, in partnership with Group REYL & Cie, and investors asset-backed notes with a fixed interest rate.

Why did I co-found Equilibre?

Equilibre gives a voice to women and men that are eager to forge a new 'normality', whether it is in the corporate, political or private sphere.

Bringing greater visibility to female and male role models helps us to overcome our own self-imposed barriers and to pursue our aspirations. Thus testimonials of women in traditional male positions or men that have chosen to take time off to educate their children influence the wider perception of traditionally pre-defined roles.

I am very proud to contribute to this societal and cultural shift together with the community of Equilibre' supporters and advocates, as it ultimately means a higher degree of freedom and self-fulfilment for both women and men.

Hedda Pahlson-Moller - Board Member

Hedda Pahlson-Moller is the founder of TIIME.org – a social impact catalyst providing advocacy, advisory and investing solutions.
She has spent 20 years building, growing and investing in start-ups both as an entrepreneur and business angel. In her 10 years as Professor of Entrepreneurship at Sacred Heart University MBA program, the field of social entrepreneurship inspired her to dedicate her time and research into organizations and initiatives contributing to the development of the ‘impact economy’. The common denominator of her activities and board mandates on multiple funds is mobilizing capital and resources towards business models with positive social and environmental returns.

Why did I co-found Equilibre?

In my journey to recognize how influenced I was by unconscious bias on gender issues, thinking (mistakenly) that being 'gender blind' was acceptable, I had to ask myself difficult questions about my perspective and narrative around gender issues. Alleging to be gender blind is rarely truthful as we are all influenced by societal stereotypes. Equilibre evolved out of a discussion around female entrepreneurship, which is close to my heart as an impact investor who has a strong commitment to issues related to inclusion. The concept of gender complementarity has much broader application and grew into a movement of like-minded individuals and organizations seeking to change the discours and put a new perspective on the strength of diversity. Being part of the Equilibre team and vision means being part of the positive thought-leadership that Luxembourg can show on gender issues and a more inclusive society.
